If
you want hair raising steeps head up the powderhorn lift. After
you get off the lift head to skiers right till you find the
gates for middle slope, milk run and others. After you go
through the gate the terrain lulls you to sleep and then the
bottom drops out. Ski length wide tracks lead through the trees
and rocks.
The
headwall forest usually holds powder stashes for days
after a
storm, as this area gets chewed traverse out into the evergreen
area. I can about guarantee you will find good snow here even a
week after a storm.
Solitude has been upgrading their base facilities the last
couple years and now have on-site accommodations.
They
have a very flexible lift pass system. You can buy points that
are deducted by lift ride. By using your points efficiently you
can ride the powder for cheap!
