One benefit of the drought busting winter is that many of Utah's reservoirs should see levels unseen for years. All ramps and facilities should be in fine shape. This weekend there is an on-water boat show and boater safety show at Jordanelle Reservoir. Numerous boat dealers will be in attendance, and some models will be available for test piloting. The only entrance fee is the normal $9.00 per vehicle charge. Read the article in the Deseret News.

Be wary when camping near rivers or streams in the next few weekends. The latest warm temperatures have the large mountain snowpack melting in a hurry. Streams are moving at high flows and can be quite dangerous, keep all children and pets away from fast moving streams. The flooding in Southern Utah could affect your St. George/Zion camping plans. Check out this KUTV story for more information.

This is the first year in quite a while that snowpack and precipation levels have affected the ability to camp statewide on Memorial Day. It is not uncommon to find the Mirror Lake Highway still covered in snow on Memorial Day Weekend. What is uncommon is to see the amount of water and how it has affected access on areas throughout the state.
As of Memorial Day weekend the Duck Creek area is still under flooding conditions. The Duck Creek campground is awash in small streams, camping is not currently recommended. Navajo Lake is still partially frozen, the high
country of the Dixie National Forest is still snow covered. Highway 143 is not open to vehicular traffic, unless you have a snowmobile don't expect to go over the pass. Most of the Boulder Mountain streams are at full bank, I'd not want to camp near them nor fish them. Areas usually devoid of snow by this time of year still have considerable snowfields.
Keep this in mind, it can still be quite cold at your usual campsites, or quite unreachable.
